| He came to the Emmanuel Children’s Home ten years ago, with several of his sisters. Since then, we have had the privilege of seeing him grow up over all these years with us. Time has passed so quickly and this school year he reached adulthood. He currently shares his day to day living between us here at the “Resi” and his delightful foster family. |

| There came a time when we felt it was necessary for him to take the step of leaving secondary education and go into professional training. He had always liked the art of cooking and the pleasures of eating, the latter perhaps more than the former, and so he started to do a series of cookery courses. We are pleased to be able to tell you that our cook is now several months into his first job, in an important chain of Basque restaurants in Barcelona. Even though he has only just started his professional career, we already consider him to be a “Master Chef”, partly because we are delighted that he has found a good job in an economic downturn, and partly because whenever he cooks at the “Resi”, we lick our fingers even more than usual. Karlos Arguiñano and Ferran Adrià have nothing on him! And although it sounds strange to say so, we are actually very pleased that this summer he won’t have a holiday. He is pleased too. Can we order another Chef’s Special, please! |
