| A Spanish proverb says that in springtime our blood runs hotter. Nature springs to life after the winter period and gives us extra energy and enthusiasm. The sap in trees brings them new green leaves and it's as if the blood in our veins also has fresh vigour, thanks to the additional sunlight, warmth and bright colours. Our children and teenagers have more educational trips with their school, outings in the open air and more time to play in the parks. |

There are seasons when bringing up children seems a fruitless process. But that is not so. In winter, nature is not dead, just functioning at a different pace. We should be encouraged about our efforts to instill correct values, good habits and useful knowledge, because it is seed well planted that one day will produce its harvest. It's wonderful to see how the values and attitudes that we demonstrate rub off on the children. It's like when spring comes and gives meaning to the previous harsher months. And we also trust that the winter of economic crisis will also come to an end, to bring back to normal levels the contributions of money, produce and people's time, which have all gone down in recent months. May the bubbly joy of springtime once more produce the necessary support from the many friends of our Children's Home! |
