| For our children, coming to the "Resi" is to arrive home. They feel OK, relaxed, pleased. They do indeed feel at home. But in many cases their original home and country are thousands of miles away. |

In
our Home we have children from countries as far away as Bolivia, Chile,
Colombia, Sierra Leone, the Ukraine... (and Spanish children from regions
as far away as Asturias and Extremadura...). Life has led them to travel.
They and their parents are learning to forge a new life and integrate
into a society diferent to their own. We have been delighted to have a wonderful visit from a group of young people from the Chinese Church in Barcelona. All of us here, children and adults, were impressed by their friendliness, companionship and group spirit, making us feel like one big family. They reminded us that although we may come from far, far away, and feel very different, home is where we live, where we give and receive, where we love and are loved. This is a tremendous truth: with love around us, we are not far away from home, we are at home!!! |
